Position Yourself As an Expert and Watch the Cash Flow In

"This article is a bit late because my internet connection went dilly last night. You can expect 2 articles today to make up for that!" -Norio

Online buyers are looking for information before they buy. If you can teach them something while they're on your web site, you'll have their business. If you can make them think of you as the expert in your field, then you have their business for life.

People are still quite wary of buying things online. They want to be sure that they're not going to be taken for a ride. They want to know that they're buying the best product that the best price from the best supplier.

Having the best price in the best product is something to be discussed another day. Being the best supplier is as easy as giving a lot of information about your product away.

For example, if you sell recordable DVDs, you should provide some information on how they work, what makes a good DVD, what's the best brands to buy and what to steer absolutely clear from.

If you sell cars, you should provide information about some basic checks to be performed before purchasing as well as providing some information on maintaining vehicles.

To really prove that they can trust you and that you know what you're talking about, you should also provide specific information about each make of vehicle. As an example, the clutch in a Golf usually becomes "hard" after a few years. They also happen to be one of the cheapest cars to service.

This sort of information will make people love you and they will trust you with every car purchase they intend on making in the future. You'll quickly gain the business of their family and friends too.

In my industry (web-development), I give people free information on how to make a success of their web sites. I've quickly become well-known in the communities that I'm active in for being a web-expert.

Consistently try and teach people things about your industry and the things that you sell. Do it in away that will help them in their personal lives. Try not to get boring with the details of your day-to-day work.

Doing this consistently will result in people thinking of you every time they think of what it is that you do or sell.

Becoming an expert in your field means never being forgotten and always having business!
